Video Tip; Page 2

 | | A better way is with multiple cameras and several audio sources. If you can have only one source then go with Camera 1. The church policy will be the ultimate ruling. Place a wireless on both the bride and groom if possible. This shows only the groom with a left lapel (bride's side) lavaliere which is, many times, the optimum compromise. When using multiple cameras let them all run with open wild mics for the full ceremony. (yes, even while changing camera angles) Both the footage (cut-aways) and audio may (will) be helpful in editing. If positioning allows take a hardwire (or wireless) feed from the church audio to one channel of one camera. Yes, if you are real bucks-up take the church audio to a separate DAT deck. |
| I Now Pronounce You: Near the end of the ceremony camera 2 turns on a wireless receiver to the grooms frequency & moves to the center isle. Camera 2 picks up the bride and groom and stays with them exclusively. Camera 1 can switch to the OC mic as it records the recessional and familes from it's altar vantage point. Camera 3 continues to cover wild audio and bridal party recessional as the bridal party and guests exit. Cover any finishing touches here at the church and on the ride to the recption with the grooms lavaliere mic and wild audio. | | |
 | | The Reception is a fast paced event with many oportunities for great video (audio). The family and friends interviews and toast(s) are best done with handheld mics. The toast audio may need to be picked up from the room or band/DJ audio. Keep the groom's lavaliere mic live as well. You can always cut in post, but a missed comment is gone forever! |
 | | Many dances will have unforgetable verbal exchanges. Now is when the bride and groom should both be wearing a wireless mic. On the right, camera 3 is shown wired to the band's audio. That is a good idea for the entire reception. Wild audio channels should be lowered to half or less of the primary audio feed levels. | | |
